Hotel-restaurant Alma is located right next to the railway station and the bus terminal of central Seinäjoki. The famous silhouette of Lakeuden Risti, a modern church designed by respected Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, is clearly visible from the terrace of the hotel.
Alma's restaurant, meeting and reception facilities are located in a building with a history extending all the way back to 1909. The building – Rautatieläisten talo (The house of railroad workers) – was originally designed to act as a meeting place for the railroad workers of the area. The building has since been renowated according to the guidelines of the Finnish National board of antiques for its contemporary use.
The hotel rooms themselves are situated in a more recent extension to the original builing. The new part has been design to match the style of the original historical part as closely as possible. The interiors of the rooms have been designed with a rustic Jugend spirit in mind, and each and every room in the hotel is unique in appearance.
The small and flexible Hotel-Restaurant Alma has been serving customers since 2006. We wish you welcome to stay with us in this unique historical building with its unique legacy.
We always have time for you!
